Server, RAID and NAS Typical Data Loss Scenarios
You have come to the right place if you can identify any of these potential data loss scenarios. We have been helping our customers recover data from most types of RAID, NAS and server data loss scenarios since 1999.
Our commitment is to only give up on recovering or investigating your data once we have exhausted all possible solutions.
I have a four-disk Hybrid RAID storage pool that crashed due to something heavy dropping directly on top of the NAS. Two disks have bad sectors; in "Failing" status, one disk has "crashed" and was automatically removed from the storage pool. The last disk seems fine, but it can't access its S.M.A.R.T data, preventing it from succeeding in an online assembly."
This drive on our server crashed. We all access this drive throughout the day and all of our documents/ drawings / photo?s are stored on it. It is backed up every night via an external back-up drive, but restoring our data from this back-up drive is not ideal and has proven to be a huge mess of outdated files. Please assist us in recovering the data from this crashed drive."
I had a RAID 0 with 2 SAS hard drives in a HP Proliant DL380 G5 Server. After I rebooted the server, one of the HD report an error and now I can not access the data."
I have a NAS. The drive doesn't want to pick up on my PC. I went to "Disk Utility" and tried the first aid option. I only realised it was a hard drive in a RAID configuration. I once opened the housing after the power supply broke. But I have not done anything with the hard drives."
Our G-raid crashed; it is no longer detectable on my PC, but we can only see it on the disk utility and can not open or access it.
The Servers were running VMware VSAN. They were then deep-level formatted, and the raid configuration was broken and reconfigured. After acquiring VMware, The servers were redeployed with Hyper-V for testing purposes. The Hyper-V was then formatted, and the raid was broken and reconfigured to deploy and configure PROXMOX for testing purposes. Essentially, the Hosts had been formatted twice; both raid sets were broken and reconfigured and then redeployed with alternative Hypervisors and testing VMs."

Two 500GB SATA drives failed in a 10-disk RAID 5. The first disk failed initially, and the second failed during the rebuild. Is it possible to recover information from the drives? If so, will it be in the same folder structure as it was on the server? If the folder structure can be saved and data can be restored."
Our Windows server just stopped working because of a system error. We need to recover our backup folder on partition "E"." On our server, the disk has likely developed a fault in the power circuitry since the media server's power supply was also found faulty. The disk now causes a known good PC to trip out (shut down) when connected. I suspect the data on the platter(s) is probably untouched."
Our server is a Linux server which has a firewall and built-in security. Can you do data recovery? What are the costs? Our service provider has indicated that he cannot recover the data."
We have a VMware volume that was corrupted after we had power issues. The RAID comprises 1 x RAID 0, 2x of a RAID1+0 and a spare (4 Drives). Please help us recover all the data from this volume."
