USB Drive Typical Data Loss Scenarios
You have come to the right place if you can identify any of these potential data loss scenarios. We have been helping our customers recover data from most portable and other external USB hard disk drive data loss situations since 1999.
Our commitment is to only give up on recovering or investigating your data once we have exhausted all possible solutions.
I need assistance with a USB flash drive that I cannot access. When I plug the drive into my computer and check under Disk Management, it shows as “No Media,” and the storage capacity displays 0 bytes. I have also tried using different computers and USB ports, but the issue persists. The USB drive contains important files I would like to recover if possible. I have not attempted to format the drive or run any intensive recovery tools, as I wanted to consult with professionals before taking further steps.
My external hard drive, a 2TB Western Digital Elements drive, is no longer reading, but it still makes clicking sounds and beeps. I need to recover my data and transfer it to another hard drive.
My Seagate 2TB external hard drive fell, and now makes a scratching/squeaking noise when connected. The computer detects the USB connection but cannot access the drive or read any data.
I attempted a Windows error check, but stopped it after hearing scratching. Since then, the noise has worsened, and the drive is no longer readable.
I have a 4TB portable hard drive to store my personal data and film projects. I backed up footage and work files onto this drive. Then one day, when I connected it, I got a read disk error. The drive hadn't been dropped or encountered water damage. It had been working fine the day before. I need a deep recovery done for these files.
