My HDD was working fine. At some stage the light on the front of casing stopped working. Some file names on HDD turned to blue writing. (I was later told that the interface went faulty). I have checked software with available virus program on my PC, showed nothing wrong. At one time the drive would start up, but make a noise like booting up and then silent. Sometimes it helped to give it a little smack, then it worked again. I was copying flies to this HDD from another external HDD. Some files would copy, others not. Then I give it a little hit and then it will respond again. With my last attempt to copy files from this HDD before it crashed, I only copied a few. I have about 300GB of photos and videos and other data that is basically non retrievable and valuable to me. I am not sure of the amount of data lost. "
