Now that you have decided your
data needs to be retrieved by data recovery professionals we recommend you
follow these steps - See also our
"Frequently asked questions"
(FAQ) section should you still have any further questions, or
alternatively do not hesitate in
contacting us.
STEP 1 - DO NOT
PANIC :-)
- help is at hand.
STEP 2 - PAPER WORK
a.
Fill out our
Work order
request form with as much detail as you possibly
can. The more information we have the quicker and more accurate we
will be able to diagnose the problem.
b. Include a print-out of the completed form
with the package.
STEP 3 - PREPARING THE PARCEL
a.
Wrap your media in an antistatic bag, or alternatively use a
"bubble wrap" bag
or sheet.
b. Place the media inside a sturdy cardboard box at least twice the size of your media.
c. Ensure that the media is surrounded with sponges, or
other soft padding e.g. crushed newspaper.
Package the drive
as if you would be sending us an egg.
d. Seal the box with packing tape and clearly mark the
shipping details.
e. Mark the box as "FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE".
STEP 4 - MARK THE PARCEL AND DELIVER OR SEND,
WE CAN ALSO ARRANGE FOR FREE COLLECTION AND DELIVERY WITHIN
THE BORDERS OF SOUTH AFRICA.

STEP 5 - WE RECEIVE YOUR MEDIA
Our technicians will
evaluate the media, at no cost to you,
and will normally within 10-12 working hours be able to email or
fax you a
quotation for approval. A written quotation can also be sent
within 4 working hours from receipt should you wish to upgrade
to our
PRIORITY service.
On the quote we will specify
cost (fixed), estimated success rate,
or directory listing if possible, and duration to completion.
NO FURTHER WORK WILL BE UNDERTAKEN WITHOUT
YOUR WRITTEN PERMISSION.
NOTE: The returned copy
of our quotation gives us permission to attempt a recovery.
There will be no cost to you should we for some reason not be able to recover
your data, or the data recovered
is not use-able.
WE HAVE A NO RECOVERY NO CHARGE POLICY.
Although we much rather prefer to give you good news, we have to
acknowledge that there are situations that just cannot be
salvaged,
this despite the fact that we recover data
where others have failed.
STEP 6 - YOUR VALUABLE DATA IS RETURNED
In most cases can your data be shipped
within 3-6 working days from approval at our
NORMAL service level or
within 48 hours at out
PRIORITY service level from approval. You also have a choice of our
BUDGET service at a
reduced rate but taking 8-12 working days from approval.
You will be contacted should the recovery process take longer than anticipated
with an explanation and possibly a few more questions about your media.

The amount of data involved and/or the
urgency will determine the method used in returning your data.
This can include a
replacement (destination) hard disk drive, DVD,
FTP, email
or other
media of your choice if feasable.
